Signing Up

I see a few questions about how to enter the Body For Life Challenge. The easiest way to do this is to register online at www.bodyforlife.com. Once you've registered, you'll receive your competitor packet in the mail after about 2-3 weeks. You do not have to wait on your packet to start, however. To officially start, all you need to do is take your "before" pictures. This is a front and back photo of YOU in a bathing suit. They frown on Speedos and personally so do I, so please do us all a favor and wear some gym shorts or something (you got that plum smuggler?).

Body Composition Testing

It's also highly recommended that you get a body composition test done so that you have a definitive way to measure your progress, although this is no longer required for the contest. PLEASE, do not rely on the scale to measure progress (you can put on 10 lbs of muscle and lose 10 pounds of fat and still weigh exactly the same). A note about getting your body comp: have it done by the same person the exact same way every 2-4 weeks. This should provide you with consistency in your results, and gives you time to see some nice improvements. Having your body comp done is another great source of motivation, so don't get lazy on this one.

This is worth repeating because I get a lot of questions on it. DO NOT RELY ON THE SCALE TO MEASURE PROGRESS!!!!!. Throw that damn scale in the trash.
